Day 1: Pemba - road transfer – Mucojo through the Quirimbas National Park
Dhow transfer to Mogundula Island – meet your dhow crew and enjoy your first nights camp
Day 2: Day trip to Macaloe Island and exploring the coast. Overnight camping Mogundula Island
Day 3: Sail to Ulumbwa Estuary via Rolas Island - overnight camp
Day 4: Sail to Matemo Island - overnight camp
Day 5: Sail to Ibo Island. Arrive late afternoon – overnight Ibo island Lodge
Day 6-7:Explore Ibo Island – historical and cultural tours included & optional activities.
Day 8: Light aircraft transfer to Pemba

Our Dhow Safaris include

• Meet and greet in Pemba and road transfer to Mucoja
• 5 days pristine island hopping by dhow - exploring and overnight island or beach camps
• Experienced English and Portuguese speaking crew
• NON participation mobile camp
• All camping and catering equipment included for island camps (sleeping bag, pillow and towel not supplied)
• Meals as per stated in the itinerary
• Occasionally breakfast and lunch may be combined into a brunch where necessary e.g. mornings with early kayak trips
• 3 nights at beautiful Ibo Island Lodge on full board basis (excluding all drinks)
• Guided tours of Ibo Island

Explore a coastline fringed by tropical islands on our sturdy motorized 11-meter Arab dhow complete with experienced crew and pro guide. Sea kayak or sail up wide coastal river mouths teeming with red listed bird species and pristine mangrove forests.

Snorkel off deserted white sandbanks and into turquoise sea, and sleep in mobile fly camps on uninhabited tropical islands. Chef conjures up fresh seafood and traditional cuisine over an open fire under island stars. All mobiles end at the mystical and ancient Ibo Island and the comfort and luxury of 3 nights at the beautiful Ibo Island Lodge. A perfect end to a unique adventure!
