Day 2 to Day 5

The mind-blowingly stylish Chitwa Chitwa Game Lodge overlooks one of the largest lakes in the reserve. Everything is big and bold - opulent black, gold and silvers accompany slick modern pieces. The magnificent bar and lounge juxtapose the surrounding bush. Chitwa Chitwa earned its name as an affectionate ode to the ageing giraffe bull who shared the lakeside home as an extended member of the original owners. The main deck is enormous and culminates in a slick infinity pool. We arrived in time for a decadent lunch. Food is a sensory delight, but at Chitwa Chitwa Game Lodge it doesn’t just tantalize the palate, eyes and nose, here meals are as much a social feast as a culinary one. Savour the intriguing combination of African and Mediterranean dishes, accompanied by a selection of fine wines from the breathtakingly Italian wine cellar! 

Rangers and management socialise and chat with the guests, recounting the adventures of the day over lunch or dinner in the open air boma. On an early morning game drive, there are few who can resist the call of an African sunrise or that of a magnificent fish eagle as it soars through a cloudless sky, guided by a ranger and trackers whose passion for the area is infectious. Day 5

Light aircraft flight from Chitwa Chitwa to Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport. Bataleur Air Charter flies daily between Johannesburg and Chitwa Chitwa. Meet & greet at Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport and complimentary transfer Southern Sun O.R Thambo International Airport Hotel. Overnight in Johannesburg.  Stay includes: Return airport transfers; Accommodation in Double Room; Breakfast daily.

 

Day 6

Complimentary transfer from Southern Sun O.R Thambo International Airport Hotel to Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport. Fly from Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport to Pemba Airport. Air Mozambique flies from Pemba to Johannesburg three times a week on a Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. SA Airlink flies from Johannesburg to Pemba on a Wednesday and Saturday. Meet & Greet in Pemba and air transfer from Pemba Airport to Ibo Island. A 30 minute air hop over the southern islands of the Quirimbas Archipelago and National Park with its mangrove fringed coastline takes you to Ibo Island. Day 6 to Day 10

Day 10

Air transfer from Ibo Island to Pemba Airport. A 30 minute air hop over the southern islands of the Quirimbas Archipelago and National Park with its mangrove fringed coastline takes you back to Pemba. Fly from Pemba Airport to Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport. Air Mozambique flies from Pemba to Johannesburg three times a week on a Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. SA Airlink flies from Pemba to Johannesburg on a Wednesday and Saturday.
